Okay, I don't really hate her. She's probably my absolute favorite author right now, but why the hell do I wish the men in her books were real? Except for Ryle, he can stay fictional.

I wanted to step away from some of the personal drama that I have in my life that I've been sharing and talk about something fun! If you haven't read any of Colleen Hoover books, I highly suggest that you leave this blog immediately and head to your local Target, Barnes & Noble or Audible and purchase one of her books immediately. Colleen Hoover is definitely one for the girls.

I first heard about Colleen when I was at work and almost every single girl at work had either read or was reading It Ends With Us. So that next day, I went to Target and picked up the book. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Holy freaking cow. I don't want to give any spoilers if you're planning on reading these books, so if you are, I suggest to not read this blog. I'm about to gush over the men in her books. If you're a man and reading this... take some freaking notes.

Atlas: It Ends With Us & It Starts With Us

Atlas is Lilly's very first love. He struggled with so many adult problems growing up and he used his past to grow into this absolutely amazing man. He was homeless majority of the first book and ended up going to the military and bettering himself. Atlas was always wanting to protect Lilly. Even from Lilly's own father. They were both dealing with huge adult problems while they were growing up and they seemed to have bonded over their trauma. Lilly took care of Atlas and made sure that he was always bathed, clothed, fed and just taken care of. It was a beautiful teenage love.

In the second book, I think what made me absolutely fall in love with Atlas was that he adored Emerson (Lilly & Ryle's daughter.) He fell in love with the way Lilly would lovingly look at her daughter. He was respectful in every way possible when it came to Lilly being a mother and her daughter being her first priority.

We also see how caring and understanding Atlas was to the young man that was breaking in and vandalizing his restaurants. When he found out that the young man doing it was his brother... wow! The way he wanted to change his brother's life so he didn't end up having to go through what he did was so admirable. And the love he had for his brother... so freaking sweet.

What absolutely sold me on the character were Atlas' vows to Lilly at their wedding. I bawled my freaking eyes out. I've never wanted to be a fictional character like I wanted to be Lilly when I read those stinking vows. Sheesh.

Miles: Ugly Love

First off, Miles is a freaking pilot. You gotta love him already. I will admit, in the first chapter when we met Miles, I was immediately turned off by him and his drunkenness. So drunk he couldn't even make it into his own apartment. But I knew I was going to end up loving him. Miles and Tate just about have an immediate attraction to each other... of course. We find out that Miles hasn't been in a dating or intimate relationship in over six years. It's hilarious when they're at Thanksgiving and Tate's brother tells everyone that Miles is gay. He isn't but that's what he assumes when he found out three years prior that Miles hadn't been with anyone in three years.

Tate was the first woman that Miles had kissed in all that time. Neither of them could deny the attraction. They decide to begin a "friends with benefits" relationship as long as Tate followed two rules. 1. Don't ask about his past. 2. Don't expect a future.

I knew Tate wouldn't be able to follow the rules. She was too stinking curious. So long story short, they have bomb sex and Tate knows for a fact that she likes Miles and that he likes her back. I don't want to give a full book review because I want all of you to read this book if you haven't.

We find out why Miles is so shut off to love. I won't post it here because it's so sad. I will say that Miles had a relationship with a girl named Rachel and he did something to her. When Lilly found him, he kept calling her Rachel and kept apologizing to Rachel.

Miles didn't want to move on because of the situation that had happened with Rachel. Once you find out the situation, you can't blame him. What happened was so sad and horrible. I fell in love with him when he reunites with Rachel and makes sure she's okay after what had happened to them. She knew that Miles was in love with someone else and reassured him that it was okay to move on and be happy.

Ridge: Maybe Someday

Ridge has to be my all time favorite book character ever. He's a musician, writes his own music. Gotta love it! Ridge and Syd are both in relationships when they first notice each other. Unfortunately, Sydney is being cheated on. Her boyfriend and best friend have been sleeping with each other the entire time that he was with Sydney. Ridge knew for a while that Hunter was cheating on Sydney. He even gave Sydney a place to stay when she left Hunter. So sweet! They end up writing some songs together. Oh and I forgot to mention, Ridge is deaf. He "hears" music differently than we do. During the book, we see how conflicted Ridge is. He loves both his girlfriend and Sydney. We see that he is absolutely loyal to his girlfriend even though he and Sydney shared a kiss. His girlfriend, Maggie, has a terminal illness and he wants to give her the best life that he can. He wants to keep her safe. Unfortunately, Maggie felt like Ridge was suffocating her and wasn't able to live the life she wanted. After Maggie and Ridge broke up, he waited for Sydney. He let her take all the time that she needed.

The love between Ridge and Sydney was so beautiful. The way that they appreciated each other was so fun to read. The way Ridge would hold Sydney and "listen" to her sing was so romantic. I cannot get enough of this book or Ridge! I need to read the next book asap.

Okay, Colleen. I know a lot of times authors are inspired by real people they know and I need you to overnight ship me the man who inspired Ridge. K. Thanks.
